These Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy govern your use of LocalFixx — the website, mobile experience, and underlying services that connect homeowners and businesses ("customers") with independent local service professionals ("pros") and general contractors, across every trade we support. By creating an account, submitting a request, accepting a quote, or otherwise using LocalFixx, you agree to both documents below.

Information we collect
Account, job, GC project, Job Board application, payment-confirmation, pro-verification, and basic usage data.

We collect:

  • Account info — name, email, phone, password, and (for pros) business details, license numbers, and insurance documents.
  • Job info — requests, quotes, messages, location, photos you or a pro attach to a job, and any recurring service plans you set up (the cadence, vendor, and service location you save).
  • General-contractor project records — for projects run through the GC tools: daily logs, progress photos, and punch-list items tied to a specific project. These are operational jobsite records shared only with the GC and the subcontractors awarded work on that project.
  • Job Board applications — if you apply to a job or apprenticeship posting, we collect the name, email, message, and any resume or portfolio link you submit. You can apply without a LocalFixx account; that information is shared with the pro who posted the opening.
  • Payment info — handled directly by Stripe; LocalFixx receives confirmation of payment, not your full card number.
  • Verification info (pros) — CSLB license lookups, certificates of insurance, and, where a pro chooses to complete one, the results of a criminal background check run by Checkr.
  • Usage data — pages visited, device and browser type, and similar analytics.
2
How we use your information
To match and book jobs, process payments, verify pros, send transactional alerts, run support/disputes, and — with your Section 8 consent — marketing.

We use this information to:

  • Match requests to pros and run the quote-and-booking flow
  • Process payments, subscriptions, and payouts through Stripe
  • Verify pro licenses, insurance, and background-check eligibility
  • Send transactional notifications (booking updates, messages, reminders) by email and SMS
  • Operate dispute resolution and customer support
  • Improve the platform and, where you've shared content covered by Section 8 of the Terms, feature it in vendor highlights and marketing
3
Photos & other content you share
Job photos are used for matching/quoting only unless submitted as portfolio content; GC jobsite records stay private to that project.

Photos of a job site, a completed project, or a profile can incidentally include personal details — a house number, a license plate, a person in the background. We ask everyone submitting a photo to be mindful of that, and we don't use job-request photos for anything beyond matching and quoting unless they're separately submitted as portfolio photos or profile content. Section 8 of the Terms of Service above governs how portfolio photos, profile photos, and logos may be used in marketing and vendor highlights; this section is about the privacy angle on the same content. You can ask us to remove a specific photo from public display at any time — see Section 11 below for how.

General-contractor jobsite records are treated differently. Daily logs, progress photos, and punch-list items attached to a GC project are private operational records: they are stored privately (there are no public links to them), are visible only to the general contractor and the subcontractors awarded work on that project, and are not used in marketing or vendor highlights the way portfolio and profile content under Section 8 of the Terms may be.

4
How we share information
Stripe, Checkr, notification providers, the other party to your job, and law enforcement when legally required — never sold.

We share information with:

  • Stripe — to process payments, subscriptions, and pro payouts.
  • Checkr — to run a criminal background check a pro has consented to and completes directly with Checkr; we receive the check's status and result, not the underlying report.
  • Notification providers — to deliver email and SMS notifications.
  • The other party to a job — a customer and the pro they're matched with can see what's reasonably needed to complete that job.
  • Law enforcement or as legally required — where we're compelled to by law.

LocalFixx does not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies & similar technologies
Cookies keep you signed in and help us understand site usage; you can block them in your browser.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect parts of the site that depend on staying signed in.

6
Data retention
We keep account and job records as long as needed for tax and legal purposes, even after a deletion request.

We keep account and job records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after, to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations (job and payment records in particular often need to be kept for several years for tax purposes). You can request deletion of your account as described in Section 7 below, subject to those retention needs.

7
Your privacy rights (California)
CCPA/CPRA gives California residents the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out — LocalFixx already doesn't sell data.

If you're a California resident, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we've collected about you, request its deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" (as those terms are defined by California law) — noting again that LocalFixx does not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email support@localfixx.com.

Some information we handle is sensitive personal information under California law — for example, the results of a criminal background check a pro completes through Checkr, and precise location tied to a job. You have the right to limit our use of sensitive personal information to what's needed to provide the service you asked for. We already use it only for those purposes (such as verification, matching, and dispatch) and never for advertising, but you can confirm or request that limit at the address above.

8
Children's privacy
LocalFixx is for users 18 and up; we don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

LocalFixx is intended for users 18 and older and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

9

We use standard safeguards like encryption and access controls, but no system is 100% secure.

We use industry-standard safeguards — including access controls and encryption in transit — to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. Tell us right away at support@localfixx.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
